The video above is comprised of a couple's account in the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, the struggles that they have faced over the past year, and their frustration with the lack of government support that they received. The interviewees, John and Veronica, are represent an idyllic American family. John was a firefighter during 9/11 and a mailman for many years before that. Veronica was a teacher that and has since moved on to become a grief counselor. They have spent their lives bettering not only their immediate community, but the greater New York City area. Government relief agencies did not discriminate against them based on race or social class - as was the case in some other neighborhoods. This video poses the question: why has the federal, state, and local government not responded to their pleas for help?
