On Saturday, more than a thousand Juggalos and non-Juggalos alike descended on the Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C. to protest a decision handed down by the F.B.I. back in 2011. This decision classified fans of the horrorcore, hip-hop duo Insane Clown Posse and the independent record label Psychopathic Records as gang members. As a result, Juggalos have endured state-imposed discrimination typically reserved for very few members of American society.
Some of the ramifications of this classification for fans include, visits from Child Protective Services, losing custody of their children, harsher jail sentences (including being sent to maximum security facilities and solitary confinement), being terminated from their employment, and losing the right to serve in the U.S. military.
